McLaren has dominated on this circuit, winning the race five times. |  This circuit has the honour of hosting the Australian Grand Prix 11 years on the trot from 1985 to 1995. |  Ayrton Senna has won the maximum number (6) of pole positions on the Adeliade Street circuit out of which four came back-to-back from 1988 to 1991. |  After the 1995 Australian GP, a race which saw Mika Hakkinen nearly killed in a practice accident was the last Australian GP race held on this circuit, it was shifted to Melbourne where it is being held ever since. |  In the 1994 Australian GP, Michael Schumacher and Damon Hill had a controversial collision after which both men were out were out of the race. Schumacher won the championship.
