Adrian Sutil's gritty determination ensured that the German returned to Formula One despite a forced sabbatical in 2012.Having made his F1 debut with Spyker in 2007, a team which took on the guise of Force India, Sutil remained at the Silverstone-based outfit for five seasons before being dropped.Unlike many other drivers in the mid-field, whose careers are truncated after being dropped, Sutil persisted and returned to F1 with Force India in 2013. Despite having missed a season and with very little testing, he impressed right from the season-opener in Australia.Although he was out-scored by Paul di Resta, Sutil made all the right moves to cement his place for another season. He left the Silverstone base for the first time in his F1 career to race for the Swiss outfit Sauber. It's been a tough ride for the German. Consigned to the mid-field, he was also blackmarked after the altercation he had with a team owner, which resulted in him being handed an 18-month suspended sentence for assault in a nightclub. The incident also cost him his friendship with Lewis Hamilton. His performance at Force India improved gradually, albeit very slowly and his off track scuffle didn't make his life any easier either. But now with Sauber, in what is a clean sheet, he can only leave those difficult moments behind for good if he performs well on the track.
