PROFILE
Lewis Hamilton

By clinching his second title in 2014, Lewis Hamilton proved just why he had to break the shackles that bound him at McLaren.

Widely criticised for his move for leaving a team with whom he clinched his maiden world championship, the Briton answered his critics after claiming two successive titles with the Silver Arrows.

And he achieved them in style. Dominating both seasons and against a worthy adversary in teammate Nico Rosberg, Hamilton has caught up with the achievements that he should have roped in a lot earlier.

Hamilton exploded into Formula One in 2007 and made an immediate impact as a title contender. His speed over the years hasn't dropped a bit and what's even more worrying for his rivals is that he has been refining his racing skills dramatically as every year passes by.

Teamed up against Fernando Alonso in his debut season, the British driver ruffled the feathers of the double world champion nearly clinching the title at his first attempt.

The following year Hamilton achieved what he was destined to; he became the youngest ever F1 champion at the time, then beating Felipe Massa at his home race for the title on the final corner of the last lap, by one point!

The Brit throughout the years has excited and entertained everyone with daring overtaking moves and coupled with his aggressive driving style, decimated the opposition on route to his many race wins.

Hamilton will always remain a threat and is key to propel Mercedes to new heights.

QUOTES ON LEWIS HAMILTON

He's a quality driver, very strong and only 16. If he keeps this up I'm sure he will reach F1. It's something special to see a kid of his age out on the circuit. He's clearly got the right racing mentality.
