Valtteri Bottas was finally promoted to a race seat in 2013 after having spent three seasons with the British team as a test and reserve driver.Having started his racing career in karting at the age of six, he progressed quickly conjuring many wins and titles, which spilled over when he made his transition into single-seater racing. His success in open-wheel racing began with titles the Formula Renault Eurocup and the Formula Renault Northern European Cup in 2008.The following year was barren in terms of race wins, but his consistency ensured that he was third in the Formula 3 Euroseries. But he bounced back soon, winning the Masters of Formula 3 at Zandvoort, a feat which he repeated in 2010.In 2010, he took part and won in two races in F3 and followed up with the GP3 title in his debut year in 2011.The Finn has been well connected to Austrian investor Toto Wolff and former double world champion Mika Hakkinen. Bottas has been groomed for Formula 1 and now he has got his opportunity.
