A busy weekend for the stewards continued after they handed out the fourth penalty at the German Grand Prix on Saturday.
During the second leg of qualifying, Sergio Perez was found impeding the Ferrari of Fernando Alonso and Lotus’ Kimi Raikkonen, who had complained to his team over the radio in the session about the antics of the Sauber driver.
The Mexican, who had qualified 12th at Hockenheim, will drop five places on the starting grid as a result.
“Penalty imposed due to the driver being involved in two similar offences in the same session,” reasoned the stewards.
Romain Grosjean, Mercedes’ Nico Rosberg and Red Bull driver Mark Webber had been penalised with a five-place grid penalty earlier for an unscheduled gearbox change.
