Charles Pic will be handed a ten-place grid penalty at the Korean Grand Prix on Sunday as Marussia plans to fit a new engine in the Frenchman’s car on Friday evening.
Regulations allocate eight engines per driver every season and exceeding the provisioned units incurs the said sentence.
Pic is the first driver to go beyond the eight allotted engines this season with the Russian-backed squad one of the two teams running on Cosworth units this year.
