Critics have contended that Lewis Hamilton’s recent poor performance might be due to the distraction of his much-publicised announcement that he's switching to Mercedes next year.
After retiring from the Singapore Grand Prix in September, the McLaren driver has accumulated a total of just 23 points in the following three races, which is just two less than what is awarded for a race win.
What’s worse is that Mercedes hasn’t scored a single point in its last three races, but that hasn’t left the 27-year-old worried about his future.
"It makes me even more driven to help them score points," Hamilton was quoted saying by Reuters.
"I'm very happy with the decision I made. It doesn't impact on that. People do sometimes lose their way, even we have struggled in the past, and not scored points," he added.
