Narain Karthikeyan has no intentions of racing in either NASCAR or the IndyCar Series insisting that his focus is solely in pursuing a career in Formula 1.
Having competed in selected races in the NASCAR Trucks Series in 2010, the Indian was speculated to return to the United States for a stint in IndyCars, a possibility which the 35-year-old firmly denied.
"I doubt it very much. Once you get out of there it's very difficult to go back," Karthikeyan told Reuters. "These IndyCar rumours came about and I've strongly said no and that's my decision.
"I have very clear plans what I want to do next year and I will focus on that and try and achieve them,” he pointed out referring to his hopes of continuing with HRT in 2013 as well.
"I would love to stay here and see how it shapes out next year... realistically this would be a good place to stay," he added.
