Sergio Perez inadvertently revealed the second driver for Sauber on Thursday confirming the speculation that has surrounded for the sole vacant seat at the Swiss team.
Nico Hulkenberg was announced as one of the drivers for Sauber next year, with the future of Kamui Kobayashi in doubt; an uncertainty which was established as a potential death-knell for the Japanese driver’s Formula 1 career.
Test and reserve driver Esteban Gutierrez will be promoted to a race seat for 2013 completing Sauber’s line-up, according to compatriot Perez.
"The car will be strong because the rules don't change much, and the team have a good experienced driver in Nico and he will have a strong teammate in Esteban," Perez was quoted saying by Reuters revealing information believed to be held back for quite some time.
