Adrian Sutil’s career in Formula 1 could revive with Force India next season, according to Indian news agency Indo-Asian News Service.
The German was replaced at the team in 2012 by compatriot Nico Hulkenberg, and has been trying to secure a race seat ever since. But with Hulkenberg moving on to Sauber, the 29-year-old’s stint with the outfit for four full seasons has now given him an upper hand for a comeback.
“Adrian looks the best bet to partner (Paul) di Resta as he has got the required experience in Formula 1,” a Force India source told IANS adding that team principal Vijay Mallya had considered other options as well.
Paul di Resta is expected to continue with the team as he has “delivered so far and it makes sense to retain him."
Test and reserve driver Jules Bianchi was ruled out due to the Frenchman’s lack of experience in F1.
