Although Mercedes has struggled in Formula 1 in the last three years, Lewis Hamilton however was buoyant about his prospects against the leading teams this season.

The German manufacturer has won only one race since 2010, but the Briton believes that he could triumph a few times more this year despite the precedent the team has set so far.

“I live to win. That’s what I work towards every year. So that’s what we’re going to work to this year,” Hamilton said.

“Of course it’s going to be tough to beat the guys that are already at the front like the Red Bulls and the Ferraris and McLarens but I don’t think it’s impossible,” he pointed out.

Hamilton, however, is hoping that his chances are even better in the following year.

“It’s not a quick-fix. It takes time,” he added. “I’m very, very confident that in 2014 we’ll have the best package.”
