The third and final pre-season test for 2013 begins on February 28 with the four-day session, as was the second fixture, scheduled to be held at Barcelona.

The outing could establish the pecking order of the grid ahead of the season-opening Australian Grand Prix as teams will have their last chance to test their upgrades at Catalunya.

Tyre degradation in the first two tests were extremely high as at Jerez the track was deemed to abrasive for the rubber and the low temperatures in Catalunya too failed to provide a clear picture as the tyres were not able to operate within their intended working range.

"Hopefully this time we will find conditions that are slightly more representative, which will allow the teams to collect more relevant data,” said Pirelli's motorsport director Paul Hembery. “The fact that we’re going back to Barcelona gives them all an excellent known baseline from which to operate.

"These 2013 tyres are quite different to their predecessors, both in terms of compound and construction, which makes the work that will be carried out over the next few days even more essential," he added.

However, the forecast for the third test isn’t too promising. The final day of the second test was hit by rain and that could continue this week as well.

Here’s the line up for the test so far (will be updated as and when the teams announce):
