Formula 1 drivers have to be obsessed with their health and fitness to get through the rigours of a Grand Prix weekend but Kimi Raikkonen prefers to be left alone in that department, it seems.
Revealed to be a smoker by the Bild, the Finn could be puffing away more than just a couple of cigarettes a day, an unthinkable habit in today’s competitive environment.
“He smokes! He drinks! And he still wins,” reported the German publication referring to the Lotus driver’s win at the season-opening Australian Grand Prix on Sunday.
Italian newspaper La Stampa, during a course of an interview with Nico Rosberg late last year, had confirmed that there was one driver on the grid then who did smoke.
"There is a driver that lights one cigarette after the other, but I do not want to drop names," the Mercedes driver had said.
And Raikkonen could just be that mystery driver.
