The two Formula 1 cars of the now defunct HRT team are scheduled to race this year in the BOSS GP series.

Under the ownership of Teo Martin, a businessman and motorsport enthusiast, the two cars will be prepared for the championship before the end of the month after an agreement was forged with businessman Carlos Molla, whose company Best Lap specialises in F1 events.

“Teo Martin will provide the equipment and material of the former HRT team, and Carlos Molla will be responsible for finalizing the two 2011 F1 chassis, and returning to rebuild the engines to compete on a high level, and manage the team,” read a statement on the BOSS GP website adding that negotiations are currently underway for potential drivers.

BOSS is an abbreviation for Big Open Single Seater and runs old cars from several motor racing categories including IndyCar, GP2 and A1GP in a variety of age-specific classes, featured on an invitation basis.
