For three successive Grands Prix, it has been Nico Rosberg who has been the quicker driver at Mercedes giving Lewis Hamilton something new to worry about.
Never in the past have any of Hamilton’s teammates clinched more pole positions than the Briton at any stage during a season.
However, this year Rosberg has claimed three poles against Hamilton’s one.
"It is a new situation for me, one that I seem to be dealing with pretty well," the British driver said after qualifying second for the Monaco Grand Prix on Saturday behind Rosberg.
"I’ve had pretty good seasons here in the past in terms of being on the pace (against teammates). This has definitely been one of the worst so far.
"Of course I need to correct this. As soon as I’m able to extract the maximum from the car hopefully in the next couple of races, hopefully we’ll see the true pace," he added.
