For the first time in the four seasons since they were announced as teammates at Ferrari, Felipe Massa out-qualified Fernando Alonso for the fifth time in a season.
The Brazilian will start the Singapore Grand Prix on Sunday in sixth, one place ahead of the double world champion, who was out-qualified at the Marina Bay Street Circuit by a teammate for the first time in his career.
This is the second straight race where Massa will start ahead of Alonso after the Italian GP.
Massa, who has been the only Ferrari driver to have started on the front-row this year, had out-qualified Alonso four times in each of the 2010 and 2011 seasons.
Australia, Malaysia and Germany were the other Grands Prix where the Brazilian upstaged his teammate in qualifying.
Massa is without a seat next year after Ferrari dumped him from its line-up for 2014 in favour of Kimi Raikkonen. Singapore is the first race since the announcement was made earlier this month.
