After the conclusion of the four day pre-season test at Jerez, the verdict has been that the Mercedes engines have been the most reliable units while the Renaults have not. Ferrari is wedged between the two engine manufacturers but tilts more towards Mercedes than Renault.

The fastest time came from Kevin Magnussen, a time he set on the third day (remember two of the four days were partially wet), with Mercedes-powered cars occupying the top four slots. Kimi Raikkonen's time came on the second day, suggesting that the Ferrari may have a bit of pace to challenge the silver cars this season.

Nico Rosberg completed the most number of laps in the four days with 188, followed by Fernando Alonso, who did a massive 110 laps on the final day. Rookie Kevin Magnussen too crossed the 150-lap barrier.

Mercedes completed the most number of laps with 309, followed by Ferrari (251) and McLaren (245). The three Renault-powered teams completed considerably less than 100 laps each with Red Bull at the bottom of the table with a measly 21.

Mercedes engines, comprised four teams, did 875 laps, Ferrari-powered units did 444 and the Renault units did just 151, which is mearly a sixth of the mileage of Mercedes and less than what Rosberg, Alonso and Magnussen did alone.
