Nico Rosberg picked up a victory at the Monaco Grand Prix to regain the lead in this season's drivers' championship. It was only his fifth win in Formula One and his second at Monaco. This begs the question, 'Do drivers perform better at certain tracks?' We explore the great driver-track partnerships of this generation’s crop of F1 drivers.

NICO ROSBERG
Venue: MONACO
Appearances: 9
Podiums: 3
Wins: 2

Despite having teammates like Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg has still managed to pick up two wins at the Principality. He has now featured on the Monte Carlo podium for three straight years after he had challenged Mark Webber for the win in 2012 but eventually settled for second as the Mercedes could not make its way past the Red Bull on the tight confines of the track.

LEWIS HAMILTON
Venue: CANADA
Appearances: 6
Podiums: 4
Wins: 3

Venue of his first win in Formula One, Hamilton has featured on the podium in Montreal in every race that he has finished at the Circuit Gilles Villenueve. He’s very likely to extend that run this weekend: after all he has finished on the podium in all the races he has finished this year. And this weekend, he has the added determination to snatch the championship lead back from his teammate Nico Rosberg.

LEWIS HAMILTON
Venue: HUNGARY
Appearances: 7
Podiums: 4
Wins: 4

You can always rely on Lewis Hamilton to do well in Hungary. The Brit took his first win for Mercedes here last year, highlighted by an aggressive and decisive passing move on Red Bull’s Mark Webber, and has never been on the podium without winning the race.

FERNADO ALONSO
Venue: SINGAPORE
Appearances: 6
Podiums: 5
Wins: 2

Fernando Alonso has taken a particular liking to this track, which has featured on the Formula One calendar since 2008, which hosted the controversial crashgate scandal that awarded the then Renault driver the first of his two victories at the circuit. The Spaniard has finished on the podium in all but one of his visits at the Marina Bay circuit; that exception was a fourth place finish in 2011.

KIMI RAIKKONEN
Venue: BELGIUM
Appearances: 9
Podiums: 5
Wins: 4

Kimi Raikkonen, the King of Spa, has won in Belgium with Ferrari and McLaren, and has also featured on the podium with Lotus in 2012. The four occasions the Finn hasn't been handed champagne here have all been due to Raikkonen retiring from the race.

SEBASTIAN VETTEL
Venue: JAPAN (Suzuka)
Appearances: 5
Podiums: 5
Wins: 4

Sebastian Vettel has an astonishing record at Suzuka. The German always performs at his best when racing in Asia and especially at this unique figure of 8 layout. It's the only circuit where he has had four wins. It’s also the venue where he clinched his title in 2011 with a second place.

JENSON BUTTON
Venue: AUSTRALIA
Appearances: 15
Podiums: 4
Wins: 3

Jenson Button loves to get the season off to a flyer, having won in Australia three times. It took the Brit up until 2009 to first win a race in Melbourne, but since then he has picked up another two race wins and a podium finish, which came this season.
