When Sebastian Vettel crossed the finish line at the German Grand Prix on Sunday for fourth place, he finally managed to beat Daniel Ricciardo for the first time this season.
The four-time world champion has been outclassed by his teammate this year and the only time the German had scored more points that Ricciardo in a race was at the Malaysian GP in March when the Australian retired.
But whenever both the Red Bull drivers reached the chequered flag, it was Ricciardo who crossed the line first.
Now after ten races, Vettel finally managed to get the upper hand in what was his home Grand Prix.
Ricciardo, who finished sixth, has 106 points and is third in the drivers’ championship while Vettel has 82 and is sixth.
